Feel a bit tight giving 3 stars, but it is what it is. I don't want people thinking it is a 'tourist attraction' However ........... 5 stars for the real energy you can feel at these bronze age stones. Just touching them, you can feel the tingling sensation working through your fingers and into your hands. The stone is 'pudding stone' and made up of a lot of quartz, hence the resonance there. If you are into the energy contained in all things ✨️ and have a spiritual connection with the universe. Definitely go and visit. But to those more sceptical, its 3 stones in a scraggy field, as my dad would say............ I'm glad I've been. 😊

A fine historical site of interest unfortunately parking isn’t available and you have to be very careful walking along the road

Like most of the megalithic monuments you need some imagination to get excited about Harold's Stones. Access seems to be by walking along the main road, there is no parking immediately by the site. Don't expect cafes or tat shops, it is what it is, three stones in the ground.

Fabulous stones in a field just outside the village. There is no parking at the site, but there is a lay by 100 feet away near some houses. Well worth a visit to the church in the village. Has a Sun dial that depic the 3 stones.

Park near big church on side road. If you take dogs make sure they on leash as going through a footpath/field with sheep in. Well worth having a walk to see. 5 minute walk from Lost City of Trellech.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Entrance to the field containing the stones is through a brightly painted green gate off the main road. They are included in a local history trail and there is an information board telling the history and possible purposes of the stones which is interesting.

Easy to find, nice little village. The name of the village of Trellech comes from the stone row. The Welsh word 'tre' translates as 'three' and 'llech' as a stone, so Trellech means three stones, or 'place of the three stones' the stones; estimates range from the middle Neolithic period to the early Bronze Age, around 1500 Another interpretation is that the stones formed part of a much larger monument, perhaps a stone circle. Legendary Origins The row is known as Harold's Stones after a legend that the stones mark the graves of 3 chieftains who fell in battle against the Welsh while serving under a Roman leader named Harold. Another version of the story says that the stones commemorate a victory by King Harold of Wessex, the last of the Saxon kings, who defeated the native Britons in a fierce battle. Or a giant named Jack o'Kent flung the 3 stones from Skirrid mountain. perhaps it wasn't another giant but the devil. No one knows for certain

Enigmatic and mysterious thought provoking visit to an unique bronze age site. A must see and 'make your own mind up when you visit' place!! Public car park adjacent to Trellech Methodist Church is opposite the access path to the site. Please note... take care whilst crossing the road to the location itself, it can be quite busy.

Ancient history at its best. Free to see no carpark but there is one in the village two minutes walk away. The field has some thistles and nettles so tread carefully.
