Reviews for THE WHITEBROOK, TRELLECH UNITED

We have just enjoyed a beautiful ‘taster menu’ lunch at the Whitebrook. A truly memorable taste of autumn with the freshest of local ingredients from the garden, the most succulent of mackerel and cod with fresh light deserts crating a perfect balanced meal. The taster wine selection was exceptional with a unique blend of wines from the northern and Southern Hemispheres that complimented the menu perfectly. A perfect venue for a weekend treat in the autumnal Wye Valley. We hope to be back when visiting the Monmouth borders. Food & drinks: See the review of the restuarant.

A slice of rural heaven, matched by the chef’s carefully sourced & sustainable gastronomic menus. Nb however this is not a dog friendly restaurant

I didn't stay but stopped here when I was lost. The staff were friendly and so kind and helpful. The facilities looked lovely and I will definitely remember this place for future trips. So quiet and comfortable.

Couldn't praise this restaurant enough! The staff there went above and beyond even to the point where one of the gentleman must of overheard me asking my wife about one of the ingredients and took his time to explain in detail what it is ,was honestly the best dining experience we have ever had ! considering it's Michelin star it's surprisingly un pretentious with hearty food . Food & drinks: Good wine and cocktail selection

Absolutely delicious meal for our anniversary. It was a huge treat for us given the cost but we thoroughly enjoyed the 7 course meal. The tastes and flavours, and all from locally sources ingredients, we're phenomenal. We have a 7.30 table at were the only guests for a good half an hour which was a little uncomfortable (lacking atmosphere) so I'd recommend a slightly later table but I would definitely recommend. It a stunning venue with a wonderful team and the food... Wow.

Had an amazing stay for my husbands birthday. We have been a number of times over the last 6 years, and it never disappoints. Spectacular food, service, and in the most beautiful setting. A truly wonderful weekend

We had a great stay here. The evening tasting menu was very interesting, unique courses using local produce. The wine matching worked very well. The rooms are comfortable if not overly large. Breakfast was outstanding and the service throughout was very good.

A truly excellent meal - the eight course tasting menu was absolutely beyond expectations. Incredible food. The staff are attentive and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely revisit. And the experience continued with a tasting breakfast - unexpected and absolutely delightful!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Had a vegetarian tasting menu. On the one hand, the food was beautifully laid out and seasoned - generally very high quality food. However, their commitment to only use local and seasonal ingredients is very constraining, especially for a vegetarian menu in winter: the 6 non-dessert courses were mostly variations on "root vegetables cooked in interesting ways". Very nice, but it got rather samey. I can see what they're going for but personally I think their ethos it's too restrictive to be worth it.
